Does the Subaru warranty cover a cracked windshield?

If it wasn’t obvious already, my windshield is cracked. However, I remember hearing a while ago that Subaru was replacing cracked windshields for free. Is a cracked windshield covered by my Subaru warranty or do I need to pay for it on my own?

There’s nothing quite as irksome as cruising down the highway and seeing that pebble headed straight for your windshield’s sweet spot. Unfortunately, the Subaru warranty does not cover a cracked windshield. Subaru’s new vehicle warranty—and most manufacturer warranties—only cover damages and defects that can be traced back to a fault in manufacturing or workmanship.
However, there was a recent class-action lawsuit filed against Subaru concerning the workmanship of windshields on certain models. This included certain 2015 and 2016 Subaru Outbacks and Legacies. As part of the settlement, Subaru was replacing one cracked windshield on these certain models for free. However, the deadline for consumer claims was April 23, 2021.
While you’re out of luck on getting your windshield replaced for free, you can save up some extra cash for future car repairs by revisiting your
