Does the Buick Verano have a catalytic converter?

My car is a 2010 Verano, and I read that some older model vehicles don’t have catalytic converters. So, just out of curiosity, does a 2010 Buick Verano have a catalytic converter?

Short answer: yes. Longer answer: your Buick
Verano
would have to be a LOT older not to have a catalytic converter.
All cars made after 1974 have a catalytic converter, so your
Buick
is likely to have one.
The catalytic converter is a part of the car’s exhaust system. It plays a role in reducing the harmful compounds found in the exhaust (namely, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons).
Unfortunately, the catalysts that make this process possible (platinum, rhodium, and palladium) are precious, making catalytic converters a common target for thieves.
The good news is that most insurance policies will cover the cost of a stolen cat—as long as you have comprehensive coverage. If you’d like to review your policy and make sure you have the appropriate coverages, reach out to Jerry today.
