Does the 2022 Acura MDX have a brake system problem?

I recently purchased an Acura, and I’m having issues with my brakes. A friend of mine was telling me that the 2022 MDX has received a lot of criticism. Is there a problem with the 2022 Acura MDX’s brake system?

2022
Acura MDX
owners have reported problems regarding the vehicle’s brakes, but there have been no recalls at this time.
Issues that have been brought to light include:
  • Screeching and squealing brake rotors
  • Brake warning light on
  • Brakes not working properly
  • Brakes engaging independently while driving
That last issue is reminiscent of a problem that Acura’s parent company Honda has experienced with the 2017–2019
Honda CR-V
and the 2018–2019
Honda Accord
. In those cases, Honda’s Collision Mitigation Braking System™ appears to have been applying the brakes even when there was no object in front of the vehicle to cause the emergency brake to engage.
Given that Acura’s are outfitted with the very same Collision Mitigation Braking System, it isn’t much of a stretch to think that the issue may have bled over into the Acura side of production.
