Does renters insurance cover a broken car window?

My car was broken into this morning and both front windows were shattered. My car was at my apartment complex when this happened. Will my renters insurance help cover the cost of broken car windows?

I’m sorry to hear about your break-in!
While your personal property is covered by your
renters insurance
policy, this coverage does not extend to your car. Even if your car is at your rented property at the time of a loss, renters insurance will not cover a broken car window.
You can, however, file a claim with your
car insurance
company as long as you have
comprehensive coverage
on your policy.
While your renters insurance can’t cover your car’s broken windows, it can cover your personal belongings inside your car. If property inside your car was damaged or stolen during the break-in, you can file another claim with your renters insurance to have money reimbursed.
