Does Kia’s warranty cover a hybrid battery?

I was just reading about how expensive it is to replace a hybrid battery on a car and it got me a little worried about my Kia Sportage. Will my warranty cover the battery if it needs to be replaced?

Hybrid batteries can indeed be costly, but thankfully Kia offers generous warranty coverage on their eco-friendly vehicles. Your
Kia
 hybrid system warranty covers your battery for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
This means that if your battery dies and the dealership determines the malfunction is the result of a factory defect, your car will be fitted with a replacement battery at no cost to you. That said, if your battery problems are caused by anything other than a factory defect—like a traffic accident—then you’ll have to rely on your
car insurance
 instead.
