Does driving in eco mode save gas?
I just bought a Kia Optima and it’s been an amazing choice so far. However, I’ve only begun to scratch the surface of its features. I noticed that I can change the Optima to eco mode, which I assume is to conserve fuel. Will driving in eco mode save gas?

is a top-rated sedan, so don’t be surprised if you love it. Eco mode is one of the three drive modes on the Optima. As the name implies, driving in eco mode saves gas by adjusting how your transmission and engine run.When in eco mode, vehicles like the Optima change to different shift points in regard to the automatic transmission. With different shift points, the transmission and engine are more efficient, which saves gas. Moreover, the engine doesn’t use as much power. While the trade-off is more sluggish acceleration, you’ll reap the benefits of improved fuel economy.
You can also use eco mode in any situation, but it’s typically meant for driving in the city. Driving with eco mode on the highway won’t hurt anything. But since you’re at a constant speed, eco mode won’t improve your mileage on the highway.
