Does a 2013 Honda Accord have a timing belt?
I drive an Accord and it has upwards of 100,000 miles now. I’m worried about the chance that the timing belt might go bad on me unexpectedly, if it has one, but I honestly don’t know. Does a 2013 Honda Accord have a timing belt?

That’s a fairly common question, probably because whether your 2013 Honda Accord has a timing belt or a timing chain depends on the model and its engine type. The Accords from 2013 to 2017 with a V6 engine have timing belts, while the 4-cylinder engine models have timing chains.
The major difference between the two is that timing chains tend to be more durable than rubber timing belts.
Timing belts are usually expected to require replacement at least once between 60,000 and 100,000 miles, so it’s understandable you’d be concerned about it potentially needing replacement if it has one, especially if the belt is still the original. If your Accord does have a belt, keep an eye out for symptoms of a failing timing belt, like strange engine sounds, a rough-running engine, or your check engine light has come on.
Having it inspected by a mechanic is an option, too.
