Do they ask you questions during your driving test?
I’m getting ready to take my driving test soon, and I was wondering if they’ll ask me questions while I’m in the car?

Congratulations, and good luck on your driving test. While new drivers are presented with all kinds of study materials for written tests, it can often be difficult to understand whether or not your examiner will ask you questions during your driving test.
Your examiner’s main concern will be to determine whether or not you’re able to operate your vehicle safely, but they will likely perform a safety check at the beginning of your test. Before you begin driving, your examiner may ask you to do the following:
- turn on turn signals
- put your foot on the brake
- turn on windshield wipers
- point to the defroster
- point to the emergency brake
- honk the horn
- show them your hand signals
Once the driving begins, your examiner will ask you to perform actions, but they will not be asking you any questions, as this would take your concentration away from your driving.
