Can you tell me how to get a car when I'm broke?

I lost my job during the pandemic and I don't have a lot of money, but I need a car to get back out and find a job. How do I get a car when I'm broke?

I admire your perseverance! Getting a car when you’re broke is totally possible if you’re willing to make a few compromises.
First, you have to be open to looking at all options. A car may not be the thing you need most. Many larger cities offer public transportation or vanpool services that can cost much less than
vehicle expenses
. Be sure to look into every option before heading down the path of a car.
My next piece of advice is to not be too picky. Don’t splurge for a car with unnecessary features that you likely won’t use. Chances are you just like the idea of having a panoramic sunroof. It’s best to do research and find a reliable vehicle with just enough features to allow you to be comfortable on your commute.
