Can you flat tow a Jeep Compass?
I want to go on a road trip with my wife and another couple. We were thinking about flat towing our Jeep Compass so we could go on separate journeys if we wanted. However, I wasn’t sure if this was possible. Can we flat tow our Jeep Compass?

Unfortunately, no model year or trim of the
Jeep
Compass can be flat towed—even if you have a 4WD model, which is traditionally able to be flat towed. The reason that you can’t flat tow the Compass is that the transfer case doesn’t have a neutral setting, meaning that you can severely damage the transmission if you try to flat tow it.However, you can still tow the Compass if need be. The 4WD Compass will require a flatbed trailer to tow it, but the **2WD Compass only requires a two-wheel dolly that lifts the front wheels off the ground.
