Can you flat tow a Cadillac XT6?
My husband and I just retired, and we’ve been looking to buy a luxury SUV to tow with us when we travel in our motorhome. We like American-made products, so the XT6 is on our shortlist. But can we flat tow the Cadillac XT6?

Sadly, you cannot flat tow a Cadillac XT6. While the platform of the XT6 provides a smooth, comfortable ride, it isn’t equipped to handle flat towing. Otherwise, you can severely damage the transmission while also voiding the warranty.
However, you can always use a flatbed trailer or a two-wheel dolly. Towing on a flatbed trailer is relatively straightforward, but if you want to tow the XT6 on a two-wheel dolly, follow these instructions:
- Start the XT6 and drive onto the dolly.
- Put the car in park.
- Turn the vehicle off.
- Pop the hood.
- Exit the XT6 and secure the vehicle onto the dolly.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal so you don’t discharge the battery during towing.
- Close the hood of the vehicle, and you’re ready to go!
