Can I get a CDL with a bad driving record?
I want to get my Commercial Driver’s License so I can become a truck driver, but I’ve gotten a few speeding tickets in the past. I’m a much safer driver now, but the tickets are still on my license. Can I still get a CDL with a bad driving record?

While there are trucking companies out there that may disqualify you from obtaining a CDL for having a few tickets on your driving record, most of them won’t—and because there’s a shortage of truck drivers right now, your chances of getting a CDL job are better than they’ve ever been.
Here are some trucking companies that hire drivers with bad records:

If you’re looking for a CDL job, keep an eye on trucking company websites and job boards for opportunities and make sure to read the job descriptions—they’ll usually tell you whether or not they’ll hire someone with a bad driving record.
