This December I’m road-tripping from San Diego to work in Lake Tahoe. I’ll be staying in Lake Tahoe for the winter season, and I need to bring my pet hamster with me. Can hamsters travel in cars?

Safely drive with your hamster following these tips:
- Transport your hamster in its regular cage to create a familiar environment.
- Include a solid-surface wheel so your hamster can expend nervous energy.
- Add food and a baby carrot in case he gets hungry.
- Provide a structure for your hamster to hide in.
- Protect your hamster from drafts and direct sunlight.
