When it comes to the
Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
, most model years have at least one existing recall, if not several. The most numerous are for the 2013, 2014, and 2018
Hyundai
Santa Fe Sport model years, with five current recalls. The most urgent recall for a broad range of Santa Fe Sports is for a fire risk while the vehicle is parked. As of November 2022, this same safety defect applies to 2016 to 2018 model years, and 2013-2015 models.
Other 2013-2014 model recalls include problems with the anti-lock brake system module, a fuel pipe leak risk (a fire hazard), and bearing wear that could result in the engine seizing.
The 2018 model year also has recalls for pretty significant reasons, including the risk of the steering wheel detaching from its steering column and the possibility that its front coil springs could break and puncture its tires.
If you’re interested in a particular model year, it’s a good idea to learn what recalls are active and confirm the one you’re considering has had those problems corrected before you buy. Or, if the nature of the recall seems too alarming to you, you can always opt for another model.
