Are all Dodge Durangos AWD?

After doing some research on midsize SUVs, I’m thinking about getting a Dodge Durango. I love the style, power, and convenience, but I’m worried that it doesn’t come with AWD. Do all trims of the Dodge Durango have AWD standard?

No—not all Dodge Durangos are AWD. Instead, they all come with rear-wheel drive (RWD) standard, giving the Durango a sports car-like touch. However, if you really want AWD on your Durango, you can add it to any of the SUV’s trims for an additional $2,000.
Keep in mind that adding AWD to the Durango will reduce its fuel economy compared to the RWD models:
  • 3.6-liter V6 with RWD: 26 mpg highway/19 mpg city
  • 3.6-liter V6 with AWD: 25 mpg highway/18 mpg city
Interestingly, the fuel economy for the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 Durango stays the same regardless of the drivetrain—22 mpg highway and 14 mpg city.
