The powertrain in the McLaren Speedtail is more than impressive

, this new McLaren clocks in at 2.9 seconds for acceleration from 0 to 60 mph. It can hit 100 mph in 5.1 seconds, which matches what Motor Trend's editors got with the 2019 McLaren Senna. Powering it up is a combination of a 4.0-liter V-8 engine and an electric drive system. Together, the Hyper-GT generates a total of 1,055 horsepower, enough to get up to 186 mph in 13 seconds.

The car is designed to help the powertrain disperse energy. McLaren not only kept the weight down, but it also utilized every part of the car’s exterior to keep air flowing around it. The Speedtail's rear body panel stretches from the driver's door all the way around to the passenger one. This keeps the airflow constant with no extra seams to interrupt it.
