background
The name Ferrari is synonymous with
luxury
and performance. Over the last 70 years, cool Ferraris have made up some of the finest automobiles on the planet. However, some models are cooler than others for different reasons.
Let’s revisit some of the most iconic Ferrari models of all time.

What makes the Ferrari so cool?

Ferrari has become the automotive benchmark against which other luxury performance cars are measured. Enzo Ferrari, the creator of the brand, devoted his life to designing cars that were not only beautiful but performed beautifully as well.
To this end, Ferrari created a brand that has not only stood the test of time but has also produced some of the coolest luxury performance vehicles in the world.
While not an exhaustive list by any means, here are some of the coolest models to come out of the Ferrari lineup. Let's take a look at the
TopSpeed
website and compare some of the most famous vehicles that Ferrari ever manufactured.

Cool Ferraris: Ferrari F40

MORE: Rare, Mint Condition, Classic Cars Sold at Monterey Car Week
Launched in 1987, the F40 has earned the title of the greatest supercar of all time. It was designed to celebrate the Italian automaker's 40th anniversary.
This model was also the last car that was approved personally by Enzo Ferrari himself before his death in 1988.
The body is a combination of aluminum, carbon fiber, and Kevlar and it boasts a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 471 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual and it will do 0 to 60 MPH in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is 201 MPH.
The model didn't have a lot of creature comforts on the interior, but it was and remains today, the flagship model of the company. Today, this model sells for more than $1 million.

Cool Ferraris: Ferrari 125 S

MORE: 4 Classic Cars You Shouldn't Modify
The Ferrari 125 S is one of the most popular and most controversial models of the Ferrari lineup. Introduced in 1947, this model was the first to wear the iconic Ferrari badge.
However, it was not the first car that Ferrari made. The first Ferrari made was the AAC 815, which was built by Auto Avio Costruzioni, Ferrari's aircraft component production company.
This model was not the most powerful Ferrari ever built. It featured a 1.5-liter V-12 engine that produced 118 horsepower. Even if it wasn't the fastest, the body style was unique and eye-catching.
The vehicle's performance stats, such as top speed and acceleration, are unknown. However, based on the equipment at the time, it's estimated by
AutoSnout
that the top speed may have been around 106 MPH and 0 to 60 in 10.8 seconds.
There were only two models of the 125S ever built. Unfortunately, the models were dismantled and their parts were reportedly repurposed in the production of the 166. Therefore, the rarity of this model alone has made it legendary.
These two models are just a taste of the automotive gold that Ferrari has released over the years. Some honorable mentions to this list include the Ferrari Enzo and the Ferrari Testarossa.
The Enzo was an important model because of its Formula One technology. It had a carbon fiber body, an F1-style electrohydraulic shift transmission, and carbon-fiber-reinforced silicon carbide ceramic composite disc brakes.
The Testarossa was one of the most recognizable models to come out of the Ferrari lineup. Its popularity was due, in part, to its appearance in the third to fifth seasons of Miami Vice.
