When
shopping for cars
, durability and reliability are some of the main factors that consumers consider. Reaching or surpassing 200,000 miles is usually the benchmark for a good, reliable car.
However, according to a study by
iSeeCars
of cars sold in 2020, only about 1% of vehicles built annually actually make it to that benchmark.
Toyota
models represent a big part of iSeeCars’ list of Longest-Lasting Cars. The brand is known to build durable vehicles that last.
To make it on the list, at least 2.5% of the cars of that model must reach 200,000 miles. This would make the vehicle two and a half times more likely than average to hit the milestone. Here are the four vehicles that are most likely to go for 200,000 miles or more.
Consumers value long-term reliability when they shop for cars

Toyota Land Cruiser

The Toyota Land Cruiser has a long-standing reputation for reliability, and it’s no surprise to find it at the number one spot on the list. According to iSeeCars, about 16.3% of Land Cruisers make it over the 200,000 mark.
Karl Brauer, executive analyst at iSeeCars, said that the car is built to last at least 25 years. The Land Cruiser can be driven under harsh conditions, and many drivers in developing countries rely on this model for off-road driving.

Toyota Sequoia

Another Toyota model, the Toyota Sequoia, took the second spot on the list. The full-size, 8-seater SUV is currently the brand's largest vehicle. This model is spacious and has strong towing capability along with long-term reliability.
As per iSeeCars, about 11.2% of the cars go for more than 200,000 miles. They are twice as likely to reach the milestone compared to the third-place car on the list: the Chevrolet Suburban.

Chevrolet Suburban

The Chevrolet Suburban is another full-size SUV that made the list. 5.1% of these cars made it over 200,000 miles. The Suburban and Ford Expedition, are two of six American full-size SUVs on the list that earned a spot in the top 5.
Like the Sequoia, the Suburban is also reliable and roomy with great towing capacity. The Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon XL, GMC Yukon, and Lincoln Navigator are the other American full-size SUVs that are included in the list.

Ford Expedition

Ford has long been known to produce "Macho" and long-lasting cars. One of its most popular models, the Ford Expedition, is fourth place on the rankings. 4.9% of them have passed 200,000 miles.
The Expedition has been around and redesigned for over 20 years, and competes with other full-size SUVs like the Yukon and Suburban. The car is comfortable and spacious but comes with a high starting price.
The top 4 vehicles on the list are built to be reliable and proven to last. But, how well you maintain your car also impacts the lifespan of your vehicle. Routine maintenance, buying the right parts, and being on the lookout for potential issues will help make your car last.
Even the toughest of cars are still prone to damage, and you’ll want to make sure you have the car insurance you need in case of accidents. For cheap insurance quotes, the free
