What Drive Modes Are Available on the 2022 Ford Explorer?
The 2022 Ford Explorer comes with seven different drive modes, ranging from Eco to Sport.
Drive mode | Description |
---|---|
**Normal** | This is your mode for everyday driving, and the default setting for the Explorer’s ignition cycle. This drive mode provides a balance of comfort, convenience, and excitement. |
**Eco** | This driving mode optimizes the Explorer’s fuel efficiency and increases its driving range. |
**Deep Snow/Sand** | This mode adapts the Explorer to slushy or sandy terrain. |
**Slippery** | This is the driving mode best suited for snow or ice-covered roads. |
**Sport** | This mode is for aggressive on-road driving. It quickens throttle response and provides a lighter steering feel. It also allows the car to accelerate faster while changing gears. |
**Tow/Haul** | This mode improves transmission operation when towing a heavy load. It reduces the frequency of transmission shifting by upshifting to higher engine speeds and provides engine braking in all forward gears. |
**Trail** | Designed for off-roading, this mode adapts the Explorer to muddy, uneven, or soft terrain. |
Feature | Description |
---|---|
**Rear view camera** | This feature takes the stress out of backing up by providing a clear picture of what is behind you. |
**Auto high beam headlamps** | These high-tech headlamps sense poor lighting conditions and switch on automatically, improving visibility. |
**Lane-keeping assist** | This feature scans the lines on the road and alerts you if you’re starting to veer out of your lane. |
**Intelligent adaptive cruise control** | Avoid accidents and tickets with this feature, which slows the Explorer upon changes in speed limit or traffic speed. |
“I’m in the process of buying my first car, so when I saw theJerryad, I clicked it. I’m so happy I did! They took less than 24 hours to find me a reasonable insurance company and price. Thanks so much for saving me time and stress!” —Dani G.
