As long as the limitations mentioned above do not apply to you and you have no changes to report, such as a new address, you are eligible to use Delaware’s online driver’s license renewal service.
Start by logging onto the state DMV website and create a
myDMV
account. You must have a Delaware driver’s license number or state ID number to successfully create an account. The fee for license renewal is $40

Renew your license in person

If your situation makes you unable to renew your license online, a trip to your local DMV is in order. Here’s what you’ll need to bring along:
  • Your current driver’s license.
  • Proof of your social security number (such as your Social Security Card, tax forms, or a paystub that contains your full social security number).
  • If you moved, bring proof of residency, such as a utility bill.
  • Payment for the $40 renewal fee.
You will also be asked to complete a vision test, so if you wear prescription lenses make sure you have those with you. Delaware drivers must have at least 20/40 vision with or without glasses to pass the vision test.
