How to enable Apple CarPlay

Thankfully, getting started with CarPlay is easier than folding a map since the system will help you with the process. You’ll need your iPhone and an Apple Lightning connector USB cable to get started. Once you have those ready, you just need to do a few things:

Use the Lightning connector to plug your phone into a USB port in the vehicle.

If you haven’t used CarPlay before, you’ll see a message asking to connect—select the “continue” option and then “agree” when it asks about everyone’s favorite Terms and Conditions.

Make sure your Set 911 Assist is on—expect the screen to ask you about it if Set 911 Assist is off.

Apple CarPlay will then pop up on the touchscreen.

That’s pretty much it! You probably spent longer untangling the USB cord than setting everything up. CarPlay is now ready to help you with those hands-free options when you drive.
