background
The 2005 Dodge Durango has a bolt pattern of 5x5.5, or “5 on 5.5,” as it is sometimes called. This means each of its wheels has five bolts arranged in a circle with a diameter of 5.5 inches.
With a J.D. Power predicted reliability score of 81 out of 100, the Dodge Durango is one of the most reliable vehicles you’ll find. Like any good SUV, it’s versatile and adept at traversing uneven terrain—but what’s good can always be better! A lot of Durango owners replace their standard wheels with aftermarket ones—which can improve traction, handling, style, and more! To ensure you purchase the right size wheels, though, you’ll need to know what your Durango’s bolt pattern is.

2005 Dodge Durango bolt pattern

The 2005 Dodge Durango has a
bolt pattern
of 5x5.5, which means each of its wheels has five bolts that are arranged in a 5.5-inch diameter circle. Bolt patterns are always written in the following format:
[# of bolts] x [diameter of the circle they form]
In addition to the bolt pattern, you’ll also need to know your Durango’s factory wheel size, stud size, offset, center bore, and wheel tightening torque. You’ll find those specifications listed below.
  • Factory wheel size: 17-inch or 18-inch
  • Stud size: 9/16" x 18” (9/16-inch studs with 18 threads per inch) or M14 x 1.5 (14-millimeter studs with 1.5 millimeters between each thread)
  • Offset: Anything between 10 and 30 mm
  • Center bore: 77.8 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 115-155 Nm

How to measure your Dodge Durango’s bolt pattern

The measurements listed above should be all you need to find new rims that are compatible with your Dodge Durango. If you’d like to double-check the lug pattern, you can easily do so with a measuring tape or ruler. Here’s what to do:
  • Count the number of bolts on each wheel.
  • Measure the distance from the outside of one of the bolts to the center of the bolt directly opposite it. This will tell you what its diameter is.
  • If your wheels have an odd number of bolts (like the 2005 Durango does), then you’ll need to measure from the outer edge of one bolt to the very center of the wheel. Then, measure from the center of another bolt to the center. Add your two measurements together to find the diameter.
Put the two numbers together in this format: [number of bolts] x [diameter of the circle they form]. That’s your bolt pattern!
