  • Engine problems: 7 complaints
  • Electrical system issues: 5 complaints
  • Airbag issues: 4 complaints 
In addition, two recalls were issued for the 2019 model year Buick Encore. 
  • The first recall involves missing bolts in the start/stop accumulator end cap: The start/stop accumulator is the mechanism that shuts your engine down briefly when it’s idling to save fuel. 
According to complainants, these missing bolts can lead to a loss of propulsion—sometimes suddenly. Additionally, the possibility of a transmission fluid leak near an ignition source can increase the chances of an engine fire. 
  • The second recall for this
    Buick
    has to do with the airbags: Several owners reported that their airbags did not deploy during an accident. Upon inspection, it was determined that the airbags were not taken off of “manufacturing mode” when they were sent out for sale. 
Fortunately, no serious injuries or deaths were reported related to these recalls.
