On the Remote Commands screen, simply press the Vehicle Start button to start your Jeep remotely. After you press the button, a pop-up screen will appear, asking you to confirm your four-digit pin. The engine should power off within a few seconds. From there, you can start up your vehicle again when you’re ready—but keep in mind that Remote Start can only be used twice.

Is Jeep’s remote start app free?

In short, no. The Uconnect system itself is free and comes standard in new Jeeps. However, you must pay for access to Uconnect services. All new Jeeps that come with connected services come with a three-month free trial. After that, you will have to pay for a Uconnect subscription.

That said, some Jeep models come with free remote start functionality on their key fobs. Consult your owner’s manual to determine if your Jeep can be started remotely using its key fob.

Key Takeaway Jeeps purchased in 2020 or later have the latest version of Uconnect software, although Jeeps as old as 2011 may have remote functionality.
