Does Foremost offer motorcycle insurance?

Yes, Foremost sells motorcycle insurance coverage as well as standard car insurance—but not in Massachusetts or Hawaii.
Liability coverage
and physical damage protection are two components of traditional motorcycle coverage. In addition to these coverages, Foremost offers bike owners several additional policies:
  • Replacement cost total loss settlement: You’ll get replacement costs covered on a new bike for up to five years. (Does not apply to custom, classic, or vintage motorcycles)
  • Transport trailer coverage: This covers a trailer specifically designed to protect your motorcycle in transit, up to $10,000.
  • Helmets and safety apparel coverage: Your gear is as essential as your bike. This policy covers damage to gear that protects you in an accident.
  • Optional equipment coverage: This can cover aftermarket modifications—but you’ll have to buy the Elite or Plus package to get this coverage.
Note that you can also opt for the minimum liability coverage. With Foremost, this coverage includes First Accident Forgiveness and available roadside assistance.
Foremost is also one of the only companies that offer insurance to track-day coverage.
To get a motorcycle insurance quote from Foremost, you can call 888-244-8092 or go online to

Your coverage needs and your driving record determine how much you’ll pay for coverage. The cost of Foremost motorcycle insurance could be as little as $20 per month if you need minimum coverage.
Each company has its own formula for calculating premiums. But by keeping a clean record, limiting your claims, and driving a safe bike, you can pay less for coverage.

Coverage options

One of the best features offered by Foremost is track-day coverage (although the company doesn’t insure motorcycles used for racing or stunts). This type of coverage isn’t offered by many of Foremost’s competitors.
It’s also helpful that Foremost has simplified its coverage options into three different packages: Saver, Plus, and Elite.
The Saver level includes $500 toward helmet and safety apparel coverage, first accident forgiveness, and optional coverages like custom equipment and roadside assistance.
Upgrade to the Plus level and enjoy $1,500 of helmet and safety apparel plus standard roadside assistance, trip interruption coverage, track day coverage, two years of replacement cost total loss settlement and $3,500 toward optional equipment coverage.
The top tier is the Elite level, which adds on a diminishing deductible, deductible waiver, enhanced rental, permissive use rental, and higher coverage levels for personal gear.
Here’s a quick look at the various coverage options available via Foremost:
Included automatically?
Do I need it?
Pays for injuries to others if you’re at fault in an accident
If you crash into another driver and she breaks her arm, your policy will pay her medical bills up to your policy’s BIL limit.
BIL is mandatory in almost every state.
Pays for repairs to other drivers’ bikes if you’re at fault in an accident
If you crash into someone’s car while rounding a corner, this policy will cover repairs to their vehicle.
This is a great addition to any motorcyclist’s policy, though it may not be legally mandatory in your state.
Covers medical bills, lost wages, and bike repairs if you’re hit by an uninsured driver.
If you get hit by a driver without sufficient insurance, this policy will kick in to help pay for your medical bills and bike repairs.
Required in some states but not all.
Covers medical bills for you and your passengers regardless of fault
If your friend falls off your bike while you’re riding together, this policy will help pay for their medical bills.
Not necessary in most states, but a wise idea if you don’t have health insurance.
Pays to repair or replace your motorcycle if it’s stolen or damaged by fire, vandalism, or a collision with an animal.
If your car is totaled after a crash with an animal, Foremost will pay to replace or repair your bike.
Not required by law, but worth it unless your motorcycle is very old or of little value.
Pays to fix or replace your bike if it’s damaged in a collision.
If you crash into a concrete post in the parking lot and bend your handlebars, this policy will help pay for repairs.
Not required by law, but worth it unless your motorcycle is very old or of little value.
Helmets and safety apparel coverage
Covers replacements for gear that’s worn to keep you safe
If your helmet or other safety gear gets damaged in a crash, you’ll get help replacing it (minus your deductible).
$1,500 automatically included with collision and comprehensive
This is a nice add-on if you have specialty safety gear, but it’s not necessary.
Optional equipment coverage
Covers custom parts
If you have deluxe saddlebags or chrome additions and they get damaged in a crash, this policy will help replace them.
$3,500 included with collision
Not required but very handy if your bike has a lot of custom modifications.
Replacement cost coverage
Covers the cost of a new bike with no depreciation or new parts if yours is declared a partial loss
If you buy a motorcycle for $20,000 and it gets totaled six months later, Foremost will reimburse you the full price.
Only eligible on some bikes.
If you just bought an expensive new bike, this coverage is a good idea.
Towing and roadside assistance
and trip interruption
Covers free towing to a repair shop, plus $500 toward trip interruption coverage
If your bike breaks down midway through your trip due to a covered collision, this policy will cover a tow plus $500 toward your trip interruption costs like hotel fees. (Only applies if you’re more than 100 miles from home)
Helpful for bikers who travel away from home regularly
