, it's hard to find anything that strays from the ordinary. You have your standard stock car races like NASCAR and F1, and some leagues have their own truck

Grid Legends is the latest entry in the Grid series, which has been around since 2008. While it's never been as popular as other racing games, it still has a healthy fan following.
Each game also includes an excellent lineup of vehicles and fun gameplay, according to Polygon. Grid Legends breaks the mold even more with its unique story campaign, reportedly inspired by Formula 1: Drive to Survive.
It gives players an inside look at a racer's professional life, plus allows you to unlock more in-game extras.

Why Grid Legends would be cool in real life
What really makes Grid Legends special is its variety of race types. Polygon was particularly impressed with the EV segment, with some noteworthy contenders like the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
Given how excessively quick and powerful EVs have become, it's somewhat shocking that they don't have their own popularized racing league.
In Grid Legends, you're also able to race big rigs around the track. In real life, we wouldn't associate these lumbering vehicles with any outstanding speed. Grid allows you to customize these trucks with beefier powertrains and more aggressive exterior elements.
Fans of smoking tires and sideways fun will probably love the Drift competitions. Not only are the vehicles custom-built for drifting, but the tracks are also uniquely shaped to safely accommodate these unpredictable maneuvers.

We'd love to see some of the Grid Legends cars come to life
While Grid Legends features a lot of vehicles we already know and love, some of the fictional ones stand out. The Beltra Icon Mark 3 EV makes its debut in this game, looking as sharp as an F1 livery.
If you win enough electric races, you can unlock the DMG Colossus big rig. We also get to see rare cars that only made a few track appearances, such as the Volkswagen Beetle Cup Car.
Muscle car fans will also be pleased to see the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon's cameo. While the Demon definitely exists in real life, it was only available for one model year.
It still made a good impression on thrillseekers with its 808-horsepower engine and blisteringly fast acceleration.
Obviously, a real-life racing league implementing some of Grid's innovations would certainly take a lot of planning. For now, we're just happy that it exists in some capacity.
