The Subaru Crosstrek is the car of the summer

iSeeCars analyzes over 224,000 new and used vehicles sold for the month of June. While the average used car took about 52.1 days to sell, the average new car was purchased within 37.2 days. Cars sold quicker in May, with used cars at 50.4 days and new cars around 33.1 days.
Demand for fuel-efficient and affordable vehicles has never been higher, thanks to high gas prices and rising interest rates.
The top 20 fastest-selling cars on iSeeCars’ list sell 1.4 to 2.9 times faster than vehicles sitting on dealers’ lots for 21 days or more. Only three on this year’s list for the month of June are hybrids.
The reliable Subaru Crosstrek has a 66.4% increase from a year ago. The Honda Civic came in second, with an average of 14.1 days to sell. The Subaru Forester snagged third place at 14.7 days, the Honda CR-V at 17.7 days, and the Subaru Impreza at 18.5.
Other autos that made the list include the Kia Telluride, Kia Forte, BMW X3, Ford Bronco, Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid, Subaru Outback, and the Kia Sportage. The RAV4 hybrid had its highest sales ever in the first half of 2022.

More about the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek

Based on the sporty Subaru Impreza, the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek features great fuel economy and a smooth ride. Controls are easy to use and passengers are a fan of the roomy rear seats. Subaru actually has a plug-in hybrid version but doesn’t offer enough range to make it worth it.
While it’s no Mazda CX-3, the Crosstrek’s ride is controlled, with responsive handling. Because the small SUV offers higher ground clearance and full-time all-wheel drive, it’s easy to handle muddy trails, rough terrain, or slippery pavement.
The vehicle’s standard front prevention systems received an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus and include Subaru’s suite of safety features through EyeSight technology.
All Crosstrek trims with an automatic transmission are protected by lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
Reverse automatic braking, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning are available as well.
Starting at a reasonable $23,145, the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek received an overall rating of 86 from Consumer Reports. It’s also rated #1 of 15 subcompact SUVs.
The Crosstrek received an 87 out of 100 on its road test report, and a 5 out of 5 rating for braking and predicted reliability. The auto scored 4 out of 5 for transmission, emergency handling, ride and noise, rear seat comfort, fuel economy, and predicted owner satisfaction.
The subcompact SUV earned a 3 out of 5 for its acceleration, front-seat comfort, and interior fit and finish. It seems the only category the Crosstrek lacked a good score in was the trunk/cargo area.
As far as owner satisfaction, the Subaru Crosstrek scored 74 out of 100 for driving experience, 68 out of 100 for comfort, and 61 out of 100 for value. Drivers receive an EPA of 20 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.
