Ford Expedition vs. Chevy Tahoe: Interior features

Both models offer buyers six different trim levels. Pricing for the Ford Expedition ranges from $54,315 to $80,095. The Chevy Tahoe is priced slightly lower at $53,695, up to $74,295.
Interior styling was updated for the 2022 Expedition. This includes improved materials and a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be increased to 15.5 inches. Even massaging front seats are available.

Comparatively, the Chevy Tahoe only has 58.5 cu-ft of cargo space, but the third row is just as spacious for adult passengers. The 2022 model gained an additional 10 inches of legroom with a sliding second row. 
Most trims now sport a customizable 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and are outfitted with a 10.2-inch touchscreen. Certain cabin controls, like the motorized, retractable center-console lid are not necessarily ergonomically located.

Performance

The Chevy Tahoe continues its long tradition of V8 engines. There’s a 5.3-liter with 355 hp, and a 6.2-liter with 420 hp. Joining the lineup is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine with a comparable 460 lb-ft of torque, according to

The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 in the Ford Expedition makes 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims and added packages increase output to 400 hp and 440 hp.
Both models are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. These full-size SUVs are not renowned for their fuel economy. They average 20 mpg, except for the Tahoe’s diesel engine which managed 27 mpg on the highway. 
The Tahoe has a tighter turning radius thanks to its shorter wheelbase. However, the Expedition is capable of towing 9,300 lbs. This is 900 lbs more than the Tahoe’s towing capacity.

Safety ratings

Ford includes more standard driver assist features than Chevy, like blind spot warning. Adaptive cruise control remains optional on both models. Neither vehicle performs as desired when it comes to emergency handling, but this is to be expected with large SUVs.
BlueCruise, which is Ford’s hands-free highway driving technology, is built into the Expedition’s top-of-the-line Platinum trim. GM’s Buckle to Drive feature comes standard on the Tahoe, preventing drivers from shifting out of park unless the front driver and passenger are buckled.
Despite having similar road test scores,
Consumer Reports
awarded more points to the Ford Expedition vs. Chevy Tahoe. The latter has 39 points, which is significantly lower than the Expedition’s 73. It scored poorly in terms of reliability. This may be partially due to the new engine offering in 2022.
