background
The Nissan 350Z is a two-door, two-seater sports car that was produced from 2002 until 2009.
Also known as “Nissan Fairlady Z” in Japan, the Nissan 350Z was produced for seven years until the Nissan 370Z succeeded it. As a sports car without second-row seats, the Nissan 350Z is not an ideal car for families. However, it is the ideal car for driving enthusiasts and those with a serious need for speed.
If you’re wondering if the Nissan 350Z is the right car for you, stay tuned.

How many seats does the Nissan 350Z have?

The 2009 Nissan 350Z is a two-seater.
Across its seven-year production, the Nissan 350Z came in two body styles:
  • Coupe: hard-top two-seater
  • Roadster
    : convertible two-seater
Both the Coupe, which debuted in 2002, and the Roadster, which was released in 2003, can seat a driver and one passenger only. There is no second row.

Do all 350Z’s have two seats?

All Nissan 350Zs have two seats only.
The Nissan 350Z Coupe was offered in four trim levels:
  • Base
  • Enthusiast
  • Performance
  • Touring
All trim levels come with two seats. The 350Z comes standard with rear-wheel drive and is powered by a powerful V6 engine. The 2009 model creates 306 horsepower @ 6800 RPM, 268 pound-feet of torque @ 4800 RPM, and it goes from 0 to 60 in as little as 5.2 seconds.
The Nissan 350Z Roadster was offered in two trim levels:
  • Enthusiast
  • Touring
Both trims came with two seats and the same stellar V6 engine. The top Touring trim comes with a Bose sound system, a six-CD player (how quaint!), and an 8-inch Bose subwoofer mounted behind the driver's seat.

Nissan 350Z interior

As a subcompact vehicle, the 350Z’s interior is, well, small—but it's also surprisingly comfortable! There is ample head, leg, shoulder, and hip room for both driver and passenger in the 350Z. More on that below.
Another notable mention about the 350Z’s interior is that there is no glove box. Instead, there are storage compartments located behind and between the seats.

Cargo space

What cargo space?
Just kidding. Kind of. The 2009 Nissan 350Z has a trunk space of 4.1 cubic feet—which is, admittedly, pretty puny. The passenger seat does not fold down, so there’s no way to store bulkier items either.
We know you’re not buying a sports car for space, but if you do need a whip with a little extra room, you might consider the following comparable rides instead:
It deserves to be mentioned that the Chevrolet Corvette is the only two-seater in this lineup. The rest of these models seat between four and five people.

Which Nissan vehicles can seat eight people?

Sure, two-seaters are great, but what if you’ve got a big family to transport?
If the Nissan 350Z is too small for your taste, the
Nissan Pathfinder
and
Nissan Armada
are great alternative options—both can seat up to eight people.
The Nissan Pathfinder has three rows of seating in its standard configuration and 148 cubic feet of passenger volume. Second-row captain’s chairs are also available, which will decrease its seating capacity to seven. With its second and third seats folded, the Nissan Armada boasts a whopping 80.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
The Nissan Armada is even bigger. It’s also a three-row SUV with optional second-row captain’s chairs. It has a passenger volume of 171.1 cubic feet and a maximum cargo capacity of 95.4 cubic feet—15 cubic feet more than the Nissan Pathfinder!
But you’ll pay for the extra room. The Nissan Pathfinder starts at $34,640 while the Armada starts at $49,900.
