Where is the 2019 Ram 1500 OBD port location?
My 2019 Ram 1500 is my pride and joy. It usually runs like a dream, but lately,
it’s been acting up. I can’t get it to a mechanic until next week, but I’d like to run a test on it today—where is its OBD port?

Ram 1500
look to the driver’s side footwell on the left-hand side of the steering wheel.You probably know that the On Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) port can fill you in on any problems with your 2019 Ram 1500’s systems **. This port will allow you to **interact with your Ram 1500’s computer to run diagnostics and tests on everything from your transmission to your emissions system.
Ram suggests that only professional mechanics or service techs at your dealership use the OBD port, but you can run a test yourself using an OBD-II scan tool. With this handy device, you can
read the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
to correctly diagnose what’s wrong with your truck.Here’s how to use the scan tool:
- Plug the scan tool directly into your Ram’s OBD port
- Power on the scan tool and crank the Ram’s ignition to the On position—but don’t turn the truck all the way on
- Press “Scan” on the scan tool and follow the directions on the screen
Keep in mind that OBD scanners are a little different from each other, so be sure to follow your scan tool’s manual for correct procedures. If all goes according to plan, the scanner should provide you with a DTC, and you’ll be one step closer to finding out what’s wrong with your pride and joy.
