I have to travel for work and I spend a lot of time traveling along the I-57. It’s a long drive, and sometimes it seems I need a rest stop, but I can never find one when I need one. Where are they located?

It’s very aggravating not to be able to find a safe place to pull over when you need one! Let’s make sure that that doesn’t happen again! Here’s a list of where the rest stops are along Interstate Highway I-57:
Trail of Tears Rest Area: Located 32 miles north of the Illinois/Missouri border at Mile Marker 32.
Rend Lake Welcome Center: Located near Rend Lake at Mile Marker 74. The actual building is no longer operational, but the parking lot is open for drivers to pull over and rest.
Post Oak Rest Area: Located about two miles south of Salem at Mile Marker 114.
Green Creek Rest Area: Located about four miles north of Effingham at Mile Marker 165. This is another stop where the building is closed, but the parking lot is available.
Illini Prairie Rest Area: Located about 14 miles south of Champaign at Mile Marker 222.
Main Line Station Rest Area: Located about 18 miles north of Rantoul at Mile Marker 268.
Prairie View Welcome Center: Located at Mile Marker 333. There building here is also closed. But the parking lot is available for emergency naps!
You should have an easier time finding a spot to pull over and rest next time you’re on I-57. For any more car-related questions—or to save money on your
