Toyota
has announced that blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic alerts will become standard on every 4Runner
trim for the 2023 model year. In addition, the automaker will introduce a special edition 4Runner SUV to commemorate its 40th anniversary. This model will come in red, white, or black with tri-colored stripes on the sides and include a set of bronze rims to match the car’s upholstery and shift knob. This model will be limited to just 4,040 units. Here’s what else the 2023 Toyota 4Runner has to offer:
- A 4.0-liter V6 engine that makes 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque
- A five-speed automatic transmission
- Fuel efficiency of 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway
- A towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds
- An estimated 0-to-60 time of 7.7 seconds
- Optional four-wheel drive
- An optional pull-out cargo deck
- An eight-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and built-in navigation
- Driver-assistance technology such as blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alerts, automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and more
