What is the Honda Grom oil type?

I just picked up my new Honda Grom and I’m so hyped! I’m looking forward to doing my own basic maintenance and mods. Can you tell me the oil type I should use when I do oil changes?

Congratulations on your brand new Honda Grom! The
Honda
Grom oil type should have a viscosity of 10W-30. You can also use 10W-40 if the former is unavailable.
There is no specification for synthetic oil or conventional oil, so you can choose the type of oil you prefer. Each has pros and cons:
Synthetic oil is made from modified petroleum components with uniform molecules and fewer impurities.
  • Pros: Causes less damage to the engine, has a longer service life, engineered to remain fluid in extreme temperatures
  • Cons: More expensive to purchase
Conventional oil is made from crude oil extracted from the ground and refined.
  • Pros: Cheaper to purchase since it is easily produced and still reliable, better for older cars that require higher viscosity than synthetic oils
  • Cons: Shorter service life, not environmentally friendly
