What is the cause of the 2013 Dodge Durango ticking noise?

I’m the proud new owner of a 2013 Dodge Durango. However, I’m a bit frustrated. When I test-drove the car, I didn’t notice anything wrong. But now that I’m driving it regularly, it’s making a strange ticking noise—what could this be?

The cause of a 2013 Dodge Durango ticking noise is difficult to diagnose based on sound alone. However, you may want to check a few different things to see if it fixes the problem, as this particular model isn’t known to have a common ticking problem. Some of the most common reasons for a ticking noise and what you can do to fix the issue include:
  • Low oil pressure: Add oil to the engine and check for leaks underneath the vehicle.
  • Damaged CV joints: Take your car to the shop.
  • Lifter issues: Lifters are the cylinders that sit between the camshaft and cylinder valves for gas intake and exhaust. These are difficult to fix, so a trip to the mechanic is likely in order.
  • Loose spark plugs: Screw in the spark plug(s) until the gasket meets the cylinder head.
  • Loose exhaust manifold bolts: You may have to get under the vehicle, but if you can locate the exhaust manifold, tighten the bolts holding it in place.
If you can’t figure out the problem, the only way to know what’s wrong is to take your Durango to the mechanic. While you’re waiting for a diagnosis, why not take a minute to lower your
