What is the 2017 Subaru Outback oil type?

I need to change the oil in my 2017 Subaru Outback, but I seem to have misplaced the owner’s manual. I’ve also never done an oil change on it before, so I’m not sure what oil I need. What’s the oil type for a 2017 Subaru Outback?

We all lose things here and there. The 2017
Subaru Outback
oil type is either SAE 0W-20 or SAE 5W-30 motor oil. The oil type for the 2017 Outback depends on what you have under the hood:
  • If you have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, you’ll need 5.1 quarts of SAE 0W-20 motor oil.
  • If you have the 3.6-liter V-6, you’ll need 6.9 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil.
In either case, Subaru suggests full synthetic motor oil, so make sure you pick up the right bottle at the auto parts store.
