I live in the mountains, and my two-wheel-drive car wasn’t getting the job done. I recently upgraded to a 2013 Subaru Outback to get better handling via all-wheel drive. I want to change the oil regularly to make sure it keeps running smoothly, though. What is the oil type of the 2013 Subaru Outback?

Subaru Outback
oil type is SAE 5W-30. This is the type stated in the owner’s manual. While you can probably use 5W-20 or 0W-20, you may sacrifice a bit of performance by doing so.
To complete an oil change, you’ll need 5.1 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil. Subaru recommends full synthetic oil, but you can also use a blend or conventional oil if you’re on a tight budget.
Make sure to dispose of the old motor oil at a recycling center or auto repair shop to avoid contaminating the soil and groundwater.
