What is the 2013 Ram 1500’s oil type?

Does the 2013 Ram 1500 take the same type of oil as the newer models? I have some oil for my current truck in my garage and I want to use it on my nephew’s Ram, but I’m not sure if it’s the right type or not.

The 2013
Dodge Ram 1500
takes six quarts of 5W-20 fully synthetic motor oil. This is a pretty standard oil type and is also the type of oil required by newer Ram 1500s.
Still, it’s a good idea to check the oil can before you start performing any maintenance on your nephew’s truck. Using the wrong type of oil in a vehicle can cause some serious engine damage, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry when doing oil maintenance.
