I live in a small town. Due to the owner retiring, the last repair shop closed. As such, I don’t want to drive the 50 miles out of town just to get an oil change, so I’m going to do it myself. What oil type do I need for a 2005 Jeep Liberty?

with the correct oil type—either SAE 5W-30 or SAE 0W-40 motor oil. What oil you use will depend on what engine your Liberty has:- 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine: SAE 5W-30 (5 quarts for an oil change)
- 3.7-liter V-6: SAE 5W-30 (5 quarts)
- 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine: SAE 0W-40 (6.4 quarts)
