What does the Audi extended emissions warranty cover?

After the Volkswagen Dieselgate debacle, I’m always worried that any German car is going to have emissions issues. I’m glad to see that Audi has an emissions warranty, but I’m not sure what it entails. What’s covered by the Audi extended emissions warranty?

The Audi extended emissions warranty lasts 10 years or 120,000 miles—whichever comes first—and covers any component related to the emissions of the vehicle. More specifically, this warranty covers:
  • Engine sub-assembly (crankshaft, cylinder head, camshaft, and valve train)
  • Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) assembly
  • Turbocharger, if applicable
  • Entirety of the fuel system
  • Entire exhaust system
Hopefully, you never have any emissions problems with your car. But if you ever do and your car is outside of the warranty, comparing
