Here are some of the most unusual places to visit in New Mexico:- International Rattlesnake Museum—Albuquerque, NM. This museum and wildlife sanctuary is home to the largest collection of live snakes in the world.
- Musical Highway—Tijeras, NM. This part of Route 66 uses rumble strips to sing “America the Beautiful” to motorists who drive over them at exactly 45 miles per hour.
- Roswell—Roswell, NM. Most of the businesses and attractions in the city of Roswell embrace an alien theme with space creatures and motifs adorning everything from the International UFO museum itself to street corners and the local fast food joints.
- Giant Roadrunner—Las Cruces, NM. Created by artist Olin Calk, this 20-foot-high sculpture is constructed entirely from recycled junk that ranges from car parts to old sneakers.
- Clayton Lake State Park—Clayton, NM. This state park is home to more than 500 dinosaur footprints that date back more than 100 million years and is one of the biggest collections of preserved dinosaur tracks in the nation.
