What are the best qualities of a good mechanic?

What should I look for in a mechanic? I just moved to a new city and I need to find a new mechanic. I've only had one my entire life.

“A great mechanic starts with honesty. This one aspect alone separates the great mechanics from the average or poor mechanics.
Once you’ve determined that a mechanic is honest, other attributes to look for include:
  • Good communication skills, especially when explaining complex ideas
  • Strong work ethic
  • Time management skills
  • Problem solver
If you can find a mechanic with all of these traits, you’ve surely hit the jackpot. These people are often willing to work with you on a variety of issues, including used car warranties, car insurance claims, and more.
Since you just moved, it’s a good idea to get in touch with your insurance company to make sure your policy is up to date. If you want help reviewing your policy, try using the Jerry app. Jerry compares rates from the top providers and delivers the best deals to your phone in minutes. And the best part–Jerry does this for free.”
