Recently, my car has been doing this fake-out thing where it won’t turn on. The lights illuminate on the dashboard but the engine won’t turn over. What are some reasons that my 2018 Hyundai Sonata won’t start in cold weather?

While cold weather can cause problems for any vehicle, you’re not the only one to report issues with the 2018 Sonata in cold weather. In fact, many fellow Hyundai drivers have brought their Sonata to a dealer who could not replicate the issue. If you ask a dealer to look into this problem, ask them to leave the car outside in the shade and see what happens.
One possible culprit is the battery. Weak batteries can struggle in cold weather, no matter the make or model of the car. Try
jumpstarting your battery
and if it happens again, get your battery tested or replaced. Hopefully, it’s just a faulty connection and not a bad battery. Another possibility is that you need a new
car starter
and solenoid. Get the starter repaired
