Should I get a turbo kit for my BMW M54?

I've been thinking but I might like to add some modifications to my BMW to boost its horsepower. I've never really dealt with car mods before, though. it sounds like a turbo kit good give me a boost. Iis there any reason not to get a BMW M54 turbo kit?

If you want to boost your engine’s power, and you don’t mind paying $4,000-$8,000, it’s a good idea to get a BMW M54 turbo kit.
The M54 comes standard as a straight-6 naturally aspirated engine—meaning it doesn’t have any turbochargers or superchargers installed by default. If you install an aftermarket turbocharger, you can boost the car’s horsepower up into the high 300s or low 400s.
Keep in mind, adding turbochargers does put added strain on your engine. You’ll probably end up shortening the engine’s overall lifespan and increasing the frequency of required maintenance. Additionally, you’ll likely see higher
