Can I get an auto title loan with a lien on my car in Georgia?

I live in Georgia and have a lien on my car right now. I want to get a title loan on it anyway. Is it possible to get a car title loan on a car that has a lien?

Auto or car title loans are legal in Georgia, but you cannot get a title loan on a car with a lien in Georgia.
Car title loans are governed under pawn brokerage laws in Georgia rather than separate title loan laws, and the Georgia Industrial Loan Act regulates lenders. The culmination of these laws and regulations means cars that have a
lien
on the title cannot be used to receive a title loan.
Alternatively, if you need some extra money, you can try:
  • Applying for a personal loan through a bank
  • Requesting a credit card advance
  • Asking friends and family for a peer-to-peer loan
  • Finding ways to save on other expenses
