Is the purge valve covered under the emissions warranty from Chevy?

I have a Chevy Silverado and it’s started having some issues. I ran a diagnostic and I got a P0441 engine code, which may indicate an issue with my purge valve. Would this be something that’s covered under the emissions warranty?

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your Chevy! If it makes you feel any better, the
P0441 engine code
is one of the more common
OBD-II trouble codes
found on the Silverado and is not the most expensive repair.
In any case, the purge valve should be covered under the emissions warranty from Chevy. It’s specified under the Evaporative Emission Control System’s covered parts list.
There are two main Chevy emissions warranties to know: 1.) Federal and 2.) California.
1.) Generally, the Federal Emissions Control System Warranty covers vehicles between 2 years/24,000 miles to 8 years/80,000 miles, but it depends on your vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and other factors. Under this warranty, your vehicle is covered for defects in material or workmanship that violate EPA regulations.
Under the federally-regulated Chevy warranty, OEM parts, diagnostic costs, and labor are covered.
2.) The California Emission Control System Warranty covers your vehicle if both the following conditions are met:
  • Your vehicle is registered in California or a state that adopts California’s emission and warranty regulations.
  • Your vehicle is certified for sale in California as indicated on the vehicle’s emission control information label.
Under the California-regulated Chevy warranty, defective OEM emissions parts will be repaired or replaced for the duration of the warranty.
Your warranty is subject to denial if your vehicle or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper or insufficient maintenance, unapproved modifications, or if the defect is not emissions-related.
