Is a radiator covered under the Jeep powertrain warranty?

I have a Jeep that’s two years old. I was driving yesterday, and I noticed that the engine was overheating. I’m a bit worried that it’s going to cost a ton to replace it, but I thought it might be covered under warranty. Does the Jeep powertrain warranty cover radiators?

Unfortunately, a radiator is typically not covered under the Jeep powertrain warranty, as it’s not technically part of the powertrain system. However, since your Jeep is only two years old, your 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty should cover a broken radiator, provided that it’s due to a manufacturer defect and not general wear and tear.
Generally speaking, a new radiator for a Jeep will set you back about $1,000 including parts and labor. If you find that your
warranty declines coverage
for the replacement, you’ll need to find this money somewhere.
