How to open the gas tank on a 2016 Nissan Murano
I got so frustrated at the gas station I drove home! I just bought a used Nissan Murano a few days ago, and now that I’m at a quarter of a tank I want to fill it up. But there’s no little button on the floor and nothing happens when I push the filler door to open it. Could you tell me how to open the gas tank on a 2016 Nissan Murano?

.Most fuel filler doors at modern cars open the two ways you tried—either you pull up on the release lever beside the driver’s seat, or you push the cap in to pop it open. But the 2016 Nissan Murano uses another, somewhat less popular method: it’s actually located under your steering wheel, on the left-hand side.
Sitting in your car, look on the dashboard panel below and to the left of your steering wheel. You’ll see the pull levers for the fuel filler door and the front hood next to each other. It’s all straightforward from there: pull the lever like you would if it were on the floor and the fuel filler door will pop open.
The fuel filler door in your Nissan Murano is located on the driver’s side of the car. A useful tip not everyone knows: there’s a
little arrow next to the gas symbol on your fuel gauge
that points toward the side of the car where the fuel filler door is. This is true in all modern cars, and useful to know if you’re in a rental or borrowing someone’s car.View full answer
