How often should I get maintenance on my car? I want to create my own car maintenance schedule, but I'm not sure where to begin.

“You should get car maintenance as it’s prescribed in your service plan found in your owner’s manual. This will outline just how often you need to get car maintenance done and what type of maintenance you need to get done.
At the low end, you’ll need to get an oil change roughly every 3,000 to 7,000 miles.
At the other end of the spectrum, you’ll need to replace spark plugs and get a tuneup at around the 100,000 mile mark.
In between, you’ll need all types of routine maintenance, that again, is all outlined in your owner’s manual. Make sure to follow it to maintain your car, even if you need to get a
used car warranty
to offset some of the costs (if covered).
Most of the repairs and maintenance you do for your vehicle will not be covered by your car insurance policy, unless the repairs need to be done as a result of a car accident.
That said, it’s always a good idea to review your policy to ensure you’re not overpaying. If you want the peace of mind of knowing that you’re paying the lowest rates for the best coverage, try using the
Jerry
app. Jerry automatically reviews your policy every six months and shops for the best deals. And if you need to switch policies to save money, Jerry does all the paperwork for you, so you can save money and time. And the best part–Jerry does all of this for free.”
