How many hours of driving are required before you can get a license in MA?

I’ve just moved to Massachusetts with my family for school, and I want to get my driver’s license. How many hours of driving experience do I need before I can get my full driver’s license in Massachusetts?

Moving to
Massachusetts
for school sounds like a lot of fun! Once you get your learner’s permit, 40 hours of supervised driving are required before you can apply for your full driver’s license in MA.
Here are the other requirements:
  • Your parent or legal guardian must complete two hours of the Parent’s Supervised Driving Program, which helps to improve driver safety by providing a common-sense approach to teaching driving skills to teens.
  • You must complete a licensed Professional Driver’s Education program (if you are under 18).
Before you can hit the open roads as a new driver, you’ll have to make sure you have car insurance that complies with minimum state requirements.
