How long does it take for car detailing?

How long should it usually take to get your car detailed? I'm hoping to get it done before my parents come to visit, but I don't know if I can spend half a day waiting for it to get cleaned.

Estimating the time to get a car detailed is a little tricky. While it will usually take three to five hours for average-sized cars, it might take longer if your car is big or especially dirty. Plus, time estimate only accounts for the detailing itself and doesn’t factor in wait times.
Your detailing time also depends on the type of service you purchase. Deluxe or upgraded packages usually include deep carpet cleaning, which will take much longer than a basic vacuum job. The best way to find out how long it’ll take is to ask your
detailer
about the timeframe. People are busy, and I’m sure it’s a question they get all the time.
